I went on a quiet evening. I requested to sit in the back with the larger parties, because I was waiting for someone who was with the larger party. I got mostly amazing service! My meal was served exactly the way I requested. My drink refills were a bit slow, but they came quickly when I was able to request them. The selection of pies wasn't as plentiful as it used to be, but the pie was delicious.

Let me confirm Kenneth R.'s experience: the pies have left the building. The display and refrigerated cases were barren when I ate at Shari's on 10/22/24. I came in for nostalgia's sake, knowing that all Shari's locations in Oregon had suddenly closed due to financial woes. I was one of two dine-in customers for the duration of my visit. There was one server and one cook that I could see. The emptiness of the joint was a little eerie - ironic given it's the Halloween season. The menu - which used to be 4-6 pages in length - has been reduced to one double-sided page: breakfast fare on one side, lunch/dinner on the other. The server was cheerful and attentive. My breakfast - the Farmer's Breakfast Standard, with two pancakes, two eggs, four sausage links and hash browns - was delicious. It was a good experience for what I figured would be my last meal at Shari's. I thought of asking my server about the San Bruno location's immediate prospects, but decided not to rub salt in the wound. Rest in Pie, Shari's. You were a cut above Denny's and IHOP. I pour out my cup of coffee on the curb in your memory.

While on a visit to Billings, we randomly decided to pop into Shari's Cafe for lunch. They're apparently a chain, and I have no idea if this is true of other locations, but this particular one serves breakfast only on Sundays. There was a bit of a wait to get in, but not too bad, and we were seated in a standard cafe set up. It reminded me a lot of place from the 1960s or so, with an "old fashioned" feel and vibe to it. Our waiter wasn't the most attentive, but honestly, he had like 93 tables -- they seemed a bit short staffed. I ordered the crepes with huckleberries, something that seemed to be on every menu in the area, but I hadn't tried before. I'm not sure I can tell them apart from good blueberries, but that might just be me. The crepes had a large amount of cheese in the middle, which muddled the fruit flavours a bit too much for my taste, but overall, not bad. The front area of the restaurant features their "and pies" section, and is kind of a pick up and go bakery. I didn't see a lot in the way of pies at this particular one, though they were overflowing with sticky buns, gigantic and covered with copious amounts of frosting.

Recently, I had a brunch experience at Shari's Cafe and Pies on a Tuesday, and here's my detailed review. The restaurant offers plenty of seats, but it's worth noting that parking spaces are limited. Upon entering, I observed a relaxed atmosphere with only a few patrons, making it a tranquil setting. The limited number of staff might result in a bit of wait time, but the overall service maintains a friendly and accommodating demeanor. We ordered a variety, including the Turkey Bacon Club sandwich, chicken tenders with fries, and indulged in a slice of apple pie with ice cream. While the food quality doesn't reach exceptional heights, it stands comfortably above average. The Turkey Bacon Club sandwich impressed with its flavors, and the chicken tenders and fries were satisfying, offering a classic and hearty combination. The apple pie was a delightful conclusion to the meal, providing a sweet note with the perfect balance of warm, spiced apples and a flaky crust. What truly sets Shari's apart is the relaxing atmosphere inside the restaurant. With a spacious interior, it invites patrons to sit for extended periods, enjoying not only the hearty meals but also the beautiful scenery outside. It's a spot where you can unwind and savor your meal in a leisurely manner. Considering the overall experience, I would recommend Shari's Cafe and Pies, particularly if you're seeking a laid-back environment, good food, and the opportunity to take in the surroundings. While there might be a bit of a wait due to the limited staff, the overall atmosphere and menu make it a worthwhile choice for brunch or casual dining.

I've only had the pies at Shari's so far. But the pies are about on par with Nation's and Marie Callender's. The prices are reasonable at $5.xx for a slice and $16.99 for whole pie. I've tried the chocolate cream pie which tastes like the jello chocolate pudding. The strawberry rhubarb is on the sour side. The pumpkin cream pie is good. A more creamy pumpkin pie. The lemon meringue was mainly all cream The lemon sour cream was probably the best out of all the pies along with the pumpkin I went on 3 separate occasions during holidays and the service was really nice. Next time will have to try the food. A lot of tables inside and looks like good for groups. Parking lot

Great service, thanks Michael! We had : hubby- prime rib, baked potato w extra butter, and garlicky corn ( I tried it- really good) and a roll... but didn't eat that, because I shared my amazing blueberry berry lace pancakes.... I had breakfast, for dinner (my favorite) and loved Blueberry lace pancakes with eggs, hash browns and bacon, pancakes are light and fluffy with Fresh blueberries and lacy sugar glaze.... Like a warm tasting doughnut! We always enjoy our meals here. There are seasonal specials- berries in the summer pumpkin pie & pie shakes and pickle fries in the fall!
